About Me

Hello, everyone!

I'm Grace, the one-hour cook! Just like most people on this planet, I have a full-time 8-hour (or usually more) day job, Mondays to Fridays! And, just like most working adults nowadays, I used to eat out a lot, until one day I realised that I actually craved simple homecooked food, without excessive salt, oil or frying. So, armed with very basic kitchen equipment, I decided to cook but vowed to spend no longer than an hour in the kitchen so that I could still have time for my various other activities!

My cooking is...fusion (for want of a better word). I like stir-frying a lot, which is very Chinese, but I also like using the oven a lot, which is NOT very Chinese. In fact, I do Malaysian-Chinese-Western-Imagination cooking! Imagination means that I often cook whatever I have in the fridge, even if it's not very conventional or sometimes bizarre! Practicality and speed are key for me, and I don't use fancy ingredients, which perhaps you could relate to!

A lot of my cooking styles were, and still are, taught by my father, who is a great cook. He improvises and handed over a lot of useful tips to make cooking faster yet taste good! I hope you will find many quick and useful very basic, very simple recipes to your use and convenience!

I hope you enjoy reading and thank you so much!
